Anitmicrobial garments from the House of Nava Ekha is an initiative of our alumni – Sunanda Arava and Lekha Shree who completed their Post Graduate Diploma in Fashion Design and Business Management 2020 from JD Institute of Fashion Technology, Bangalore. The concept was a solution to the woes faced during the ongoing pandemic. As an institute we are extremely proud of our alumni who make significant contributions to their fields of interest and accomplish their desires.
Post the successful completion of their course in 2020, Sunanda and Lekha stumbled on the hardships of the pandemic like everybody else. But their passion for fashion design and entrepreneurship did not let them stay idle.
With safety being everyone’s top most priority, the same has trickled into fashion as well. Keeping this in mind alongwith the incorporation of what was taught in their varied modules, the enterprising youngsters fashioned Antimicrobial ready-to-wear garments to adapt to the changing lifestyle in the world.
The two innovative “fashionpreneurs” believe that the Antimicrobial garments will act as a shield against bacteria, viruses, fungi and prevents skin infections. Apart from its defensive properties, it also extends the life of the fabric and keeps it odour-free.
Just 4 months into their entrepreneurial journey, House of Nava Ekha takes care of the complete manufacturing process. Developing fresh designs, printing, pattern making, and garment construction.
Sunanda and Lekha, through their endeavour also celebrate the centuries-old rooted tradition of the indigo collection with their series of hand-printed and digitized prints to form exquisite designs in contemporary fashion.
