The Module End Display of the Diploma in Interior Design— On 24th September, the June 2024 batch of Diploma in Interior Designers at JD Institute of Fashion Technology brought in a vibrant showcase of creativity, skill, and innovation with a module end display of their design thinking, drafting, and design foundation module. It was the time when students had worked very hard and provided evidence of the work experience and expertise they had acquired through all foundation modules on drafting and design.
Transition of Student Study
As the students embarked on their creative journey, it was clear that the learning was much beyond technical learning. The module end display was a means to present their competencies in technical drawing and drafting principles through projects that vary by architectural plans and engineering drawings. Each student’s display showed his grasp of design, analysis, and ideas.
Technical Competence in Action
In the Drafting Module, they worked on various projects requiring them to use technical drawing skills in real-life situations. From highly detailed architectural plans to very precise engineering drawings, the work undertaken by the students displayed mastery over the principles of drafting, something any serious interior designer should have. The event was structured to be interactive, in terms of displays that encouraged explorations from the attendees. They were able to gain immense insights into industry requirements, including very rigid technical skills. This section of the exhibition not only displayed students’ talents but also their readiness to be at par with the challenges of the real world.
Emphasis on Principles of Design
The Design Thinking and Design Foundation module has been fostered as an understanding of the basics of design and to nurture the ability to develop innovative concepts. The students during the display presented their creative design ideas, and how they have embraced the principles of design in the making of unique functional spaces. With a varied show of concepts-from the modern minimalist to the eclectic styles-it registered the diverse influences that inform them and their ability to translate those influences into tangible designs.
A narrative approach was complemented by this interesting display: here, the stories of the projects had been shared with visitors so that presentations spoke not only for the depth of the work that has been accomplished technically but also the thought processes and inspirations that guided student designs and the creative journey that the students underwent in this process.
Showcasing Their Creative Skills
The display was intended to reflect on the creativity of the students and the skills they learned in a manner that would best be emphasized during study. This means that a lot of students were able to display their portfolios, which reflect the journey each student has undergone as a designer. Each portfolio essentially is a testament to the many hours of hard work, discipline, and love that the students have put into their studies.
Moreover, the event facilitated a culture of collaboration and cooperation since the motivation came from the students’ sides, and students actively shared their responses on the work carried out. Such community aspects form a core part of the JD Institute experience and help empower them to learn from each other and grow together.
Interactive Learning Experience
The Module End Display encouraged people to interact. When visitors came in, people were encouraged to ask questions and to give their feedback. It was a good experience for the visitors, but it also worked on their hone-up the public speaking skills of the students by being able to receive qualitative feedback from professionals from the industry and the class itself.
This event very clearly illustrated the learning outcomes: the students go through the module with the ability to draft and design better, more creative thinkers, and finally, the confidence to aim further in this interior design industry.
Well, by the end of this Module End Display, it was quite evident that this event was not only a showcase of student works, but more so a celebration in respect of the journey every student did as well. Creativity and dedication that dwelled in such skills were sure testaments to the quality of such education that comes from the JD Institute of Fashion Technology.
Equipped with newfound knowledge and experience, these budding interior designers are ready to start their journeys in the profession. The Module End Display is a wake-up call to what’s in store: unbridled potentiality and endless possibilities within the world of interior design. Where their creativity takes them from here, only time will tell!
