Resham Rebel, designed by Chaithra Gowda and Rahila Khan, students of Diploma in Fashion Technology July 2022 at JD Institute of Fashion Technology, Bengaluru for JD Design Awards 2023 paid tribute to Indian textiles through brocade.

Textile has always played an important role in our lives. It adorns one’s beauty. By giving tribute to brocades the young fashion designers wanted to showcase the varied culture and heritage of India on an International arena. It also signifies royalty and class from times immemorial. Inspired by the Victorian era, the couture collection was designed exquisitely to reflect, enhance and celebrate Indian textiles. The designer have also made use of bright colours like blue, red, and green to give a vibrant appeal to the garments. The use of brocades in the collection provide contemporary innovations to old traditions and promote the craftsmanship of the weavers.
